With each month, I’m finding that I’m drawn to fountain pens with different nibs to make my writing practice more interesting. That’s why I like pens where you can easily switch out the nib unit. This month, almost every fountain pen I have inked up has a different nib (as well as ink of course).
Inked up this month:
Hinze Pen Co (sankakusen) with Diamine “writer’s blood”
Esterbrook Estie (techo) with Dominant Industry x Wonder Pens "ginger chicken"
Leonardo Momento Zero x Stilo & Stile (broad) with Robert Oster "honey bee"
Ferris Wheel Press Joule (medium) with Diamine "twilight"
Franklin-Christoph 46 (broad cursive italic) with Dominant Industry "soleil couchant à Etretat"
Opus 88 pocket mini (fine) with Amarillo Stationery "teal waistband"
Franklin-Christoph 03 (beak point) with Robert Oster "lake of fire"
Lamy AL-Star x Harry Potter (broad) with Lamy blue cartridge
My favourite pen this month is the Leonardo Momento Zero, a new edition to my collection. It’s a gorgeous pen that has a balanced feel to it and provides a very enjoyable writing experience. It’s my first Italian pen and won’t be my last.
My favourite nib this month is the beak point, custom ground by Matthew Chen of Matthew’s Nibworks. Regular writing gives an extra fine line while the reverse gives a very broad stroke (similar to the Japanese Fude nib).
My favourite ink this month is Amarillo Stationery “teal waistband”. Aside from the really fun name, the ink shade is right up my alley with a teal-green finish. This is one of four inks released by Amarillo Stationery this month and I had such a fun time trying them out.
